The CanAm Project was inspired to be a unique travelling niche by the founder, Klaus J. Lauth, an engineer, cosmopolitan and resident to the Canary Islands; -based on many years of experience in global airtravel acquired while travelling to his residencies in several different countries from the middle-east to Europe, such as Kuwait, Iran, France, Abu Dhabi, Germany and Spain.
Born in Indonesia, Klaus junior crossed the equator for the first time in 1965 at the tender age of four, igniting a lifelong passion for air travel, -when flying was still an enchanting experience and a somewhat magical affair-.
Many memories, such as the perfumed scent of the aircraft and the stewardesses when boarding by the rear central stairs on a Boeing 727 in Beirut 1974, the magnificent window views, watching clouds for hours and more. Then the wide and comfortable seats on a Pan Am Round the World Flight, playful meals, free airplane postcards, airline toys and many other treats remained engraved in his memory as a child. Unfortunately, over the decades, this sense of wonderment gradually waned as airlines shifted their focus to profit-driven corporate models. Then, finally, in the mid 2010s, increasingly dismayed by the poor experience encountered, -he was highly motivated to change things and…… to basically revive the “good old days” of airtravel. | ![]() |
