A New Era Takes Off from the Canary Islands

CanAm is setting its sights on three wide-body-capable airports across the Canary Islands:

Las Palmas (LPA), Tenerife South (TFS), and Lanzarote (ACE).

Our first major transformation begins at Las Palmas Airport, which will serve as the flagship gateway for CanAm’s long-haul operations.

Why a New Terminal? – Because Growth Demands Space.

Larger aircraft like the Airbus A330, A340, and the Boeing 747 require infrastructure that fits their wingspans and traffic flow. Today, one 747 can occupy space for three gates — a bottleneck that’s simply unsustainable at a busy, growing airport.

And with transit operations at the heart of CanAm’s strategy, quick and seamless gate-to-gate transfers are a must. That’s why a dedicated CanAm terminal is not just ideal — it’s essential.

Location is everything.

To ensure smooth transfers to regional partner flights with Binter and CanaryFly, the terminal will be positioned just south of the existing terminals, within walking distance of inter-island operations.

  • The Future CanAm Terminal: Designed for Flow and Comfort
  • Wide-body aircraft parking stands optimized for efficient boarding and turnaround
  • Fast-track security lanes for premium and transit passengers
  • Designated check-in areas for passengers and cargo
  • Dedicated cargo gates on the land-side north end
  • A CanAm Duty-Free Mall with local and international brands

A Signature CanAm Lounge featuring Spanish-style food, rest zones, a smoker’s lounge, and shower suites for long-haul passengers

Beyond the Terminal: Building the CanAm Ecosystem

While the new terminal takes shape, a temporary interim terminal will ensure CanAm flights can take off without interruption.

CanAm Crew Quarters and the CanAm Airport Hotel are planned on the outskirts of the airport premises, preferably at beachfront locations.

Additional planned facilities at Las Palmas Airport include:

  • CanAm Maintenance Hangars for aircraft maintenance
  • Catering Center for premium onboard meal preparation
  • Training Campus with classrooms, ground operations training areas,
including 3D flight simulators for crew certification and recurrent training

From Gate to Gateway — CanAm is building more than flights.

We’re building a future-forward aviation hub for the entire region.
