Strategic Network

CanAm’s network strategy is built around selected intercontinental corridors rather than broad route coverage.

The project is focused on connecting large North American catchment areas with the Canary Islands and selected African markets through a disciplined Atlantic gateway model. This approach is designed to concentrate demand, simplify operations and create stronger economics than a dispersed network of isolated long-haul routes.

Las Palmas is central to this logic. Its geographic position allows CanAm to structure North America-Africa traffic through a European Atlantic gateway, while also creating opportunities for premium passenger flows, cargo handling, cruise-related demand and selected tourism connections.

The network is therefore not intended to grow by adding destinations for visibility alone. Each route must contribute to the wider platform: by strengthening Atlantic connectivity, improving aircraft utilization, supporting premium demand, creating cargo Potential or reinforcing the Canary Islands as a strategic aviation and infrastructure hub.


African destinations are selected according to their strategic relevance, not only by population size. Political importance, business travel, diaspora links, cargo demand, tourism value, stability, geography and gateway Potential all matter. This is why CanAm’s African network logic gives priority to markets where the Atlantic routing through Las Palmas can offer a meaningful commercial and operational advantage.

On the North American side, CanAm’s focus is on metropolitan regions with strong premium, diaspora, business, tourism or cruise-related demand. The objective is to connect these catchment areas to Africa and the Canary Islands through a more focused and comfortable alternative to routings via distant hubs.


The result is a network concept based on corridor strength, not network mass. CanAm does not need to be present everywhere. It needs to develop routes where geography, demand, aircraft economics, cargo opportunity and gateway control can work together as one integrated Atlantic system.
